Mmmmmbop

Rayce and I went back to Tulsa last weekend for a wedding. Sunday we decided to start looking at houses in midtown Tulsa to start getting some ideas. While we were driving around there was a group of about 5 guys walking across the street and as I was looking at them I noticed that one of them was Zac Hanson....I said "Hey that's Zac Hanson....and that's Taylor Hanson" We were super excited that we spotted these local celebrities. It was so awesome! They were just going to eat at Hideaway Pizza...I told Rayce if we hadn't just eaten we would so be going in there right now..... Rayce and I are experts in celebrity spotting and we don't even try. We have seen Ashanti, Kevin Connolly (from Entourage), Rick Fox (B-ball player and exie of vanessa williams), Patrick Dempsey, Bear Grylls, Jeremy Piven. And our biggest to date: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie......it's freakin crazy. And now we can add 2 more to the list (even though I have met the Hansons before, Rayce had never seen them!)

House Hunting: Rayce and I are getting really excited about moving back to Tulsa and buying our first house together. Thanks to my awesome dad and his planning for the future, Rayce and I will have a nice big down payment for the house. Absolutely amazing. We really love midtown Tulsa and would love to buy a house there...they are all older homes which I LOVE....that is so much more my style than a brand new house. But with old houses come problems so we will definitely use our heads and make sure everything is inspected to the core.....So much to think about.

I think we will also look in other parts of Tulsa and surrounding areas...if we buy a newer home, it would have to be pretty special!! :) We are so excited at the idea of being able to paint and really the make the home our own. Right now we are in this rent house and although we could paint, it would be way too much work if we had to paint over it whehn we moved out. So no thank you.....When Rayce and I were looking at the houses we felt like we were on House Hunters on HGTV. I was making comments left and right about every room we walked into.....the same comments I make fun of when watching the people on TV look at homes. Pretty amusing.

The other day Rayce had a clinical for nursing school and he was in labor and delivery!!! He saw a baby being born.....He was pretty nervous about being in there, but he said it was really cool to experience. He saw EVERYTHING....yikes. He said he almost cried....I asked him what in the world he would be like when we had one......I was reading one of his nursing books last night and there was a chart on the different stages of pregnancy and I had to stop reading when it started talking about hemorrhoids and what you are supposed to do to them if you get them. After that I said "no thank you" and shut the book. I do not need to know about stuff like that or I would never want children! haha....

I worked out on Wednesday for the first time in about 3 months. It was tough. I just need to get myself motivated to keep it up. I think I am going to start doing my windsor pilates dvds again too. I love those!

OU Football this weekend!!!

Boomer Sooner!! Can't wait to tailgate and see friends!!!

Porch People

So Rayce and I want to make a documentary on the "porch people of Ada". They are everywhere. The porch people are people that sit on their porches or in their front yard no matter if it is 110 degrees outside or not and there are always a lot of them. There is this one house in particular where we estimate that about 10 people live in (this is just a rough guess, there may be more). It makes sense they sit on the porch because they all can't fit in the tiny house at once. It's ridiculous. Never seen anything like it. Every time we drive by their houses there is a new person there. They range in age from about 1 month old to about 70. So we are going to buy a video camer and interview them. Well not really, but I bet it would be one riveting documentary.

Rayce and I go to Starbucks and sit on their patio to feel like we are in a big city.....it's about the closest thing to one that we can get here. Yesterday we went and Rayce got a coffee and I brought my Braum's chicken strips to eat. The weather was nice....I read a book. It was good times. Then we went to Hastings (our other favorite place) and they finally had the new Domino magazine!!! Yay!! I was so excited. If you don't read Domino you need to. It is awesome. We usually just sit in Hastings for an hour and read magazines, but Domino is the one magazine I HAVE to buy.

Anything else.....Oh yes! Misty got a job in New York City and I am so happy for her!! She will be there for 3 months and leaves at the beginning of September. I really want to try to go see her. We will see if I can work something out. Yay Misty!!

Had waffles for lunch.

The other day we went to Sonic and Rayce was driving. I ordered a medium drink and gave him change to pay for it....like 6 quarters and a couple of other coins. Well, he was embarrassed that he had to pay with that.
So tonight I wanted to go get and Rayce decides that I am going to drive so I will have to hand the money to the carhop...He goes into his closet and gets his coffee can full of change and tells me that I am going to have to pay with change this time. And takes a bunch of coins out. I told him that was fine with me....i don't care what the people at Sonic think of me. Plus, I didn't have to pay for it with my money, I got to use his (jokes on him) So we go and both get drinks. The total was about 3.75. So I paid with 14 quarters, two dimes, and a nickel. The lady looked at me like I was crazy when I handed her all of the coins....and Rayce was embarrased again even though he MADE me do it......didn't bother me.

Update: Rayce's hair is growing back in nicely.

More to come I am sure.

What I did on my summer vacation......

Never really blogged before, but everyone else is these days so I thought I would give it a try......I will give a quick rundown of what I did on my summer vacation like we had to do in elementary school (with illustrations)...so here goes....

"What I did on my Summer vacation" by Sara Hammond
1) Got Married!!!

2) Went on a honeymoon to Mexico....

3) Moved to a new town with a boy (my husband)....tried to get out of said town as much as possible (with the hubby of course)......Our AC doesn't work so great when it gets above 90 outside.....

Christening the house with our sparklers......our electricity went out the day we got back from the honeymoon and it was much cooler outside then in.....

4)Went to the Lake a couple of times.....

my version of fishing

5) Cut off my hair

6) Enrolled in an entrepreunership class at East Central University here in Ada....an undergrad course. Never thought I would be going back to school taking undergrad courses.....I start on Tuesday....yikes.

Also, last night Rayce decided to shave his head...he was pretty close to finished when he decided to take off the guard to the electric clippers to oil it.....well he forgot he had taken off the guard and needless to say, he shaved a pretty good chunk of hair off right at the front. It happened in slow motion.......I couldn't get out the words to tell him to stop..... I have never laughed so hard in my life. So I will be posting a picture of that new hairdo as well. Everytime I look at him I have to laugh. He was gracious enough to let me tell this story. Thanks Rayce.

Well thanks for reading my first post....I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on our life in hoppin Ada.....
