Heaven!

This is a picture of Martha Stewart's prop closet (just a small part of it I am sure).........This is where all the pretty things go after they use them for the magazine shoots, TV show, etc. If I could raid that closet.......

Chocolate Chip Cupcakes

I made some yummy cupcakes from scratch yesterday....chocolate chip cupcakes with a chocolate glaze. Delish!! It is dangerous to have 18 cupcakes sitting in the kitchen.......Rayce has eaten like 5 so far. I am trying to be good. But now I want one.....

Halloween decorations...Part Dos

Here are a few more decorations.......

I got this idea from Martha Stewart Halloween magazine last year. It was so much fun to make! I got the templates for the pumpkins and black cats from the magazines and made them out of construction paper. I decided to make other ornaments using scrapbooking paper and fun ribbon (a gingham ribbon and a ribbon with little candy corns on it). I found the branch in the backyard and spray painted it black. Rayce helped me find the perfect branch. The whole project cost under $7. I got everything at Wal-Mart and a local scrapbook store. Don't mind the faux wood paneling in the background.....

Easy idea: Candy corn in mason jars or vases and cheap candles. A cute, inexpensive decoration....

I love decorating for holidays!
Well, Rayce and I are off to take a walk.

Bloggy Buddy surprise

My friend Natalie came up with an idea for a "bloggy party", where her friends who blogged could exchange presents (kind of like a "secret santa" only for halloween and not so secret!). I got mine in the mail today from my bloggy buddy Lauren and I looooove it! I thought I would share, because it is just too cute!! I also got some candles, dishtowels, and candy corn! Can't wait for the Christmas bloggy party!

I love this postcard. I so want to send them out when Rayce and I move in May.

Funny baby shower invitations......I would love to get one of these in the mail.

EmBEARassed.

Rayce and I went to the OU/Baylor in Waco and we beat the Bears pretty good. 49-17! It was HOT at the game too. My nose got sunburned! We rode to Waco with Trent and got to hang out with Blake while we were there. He is living there now and is going to a church planting school. Very cool. I also ran into Kadrian, Kyle, Aunt Sandra, and Uncle Mark. Totally random. Here are some pictures from the weekend

Rayce, Trent, Blake, and Scott.....at Common Grounds coffee shop. Good stuff!!

The Baylor marching band did a movie montage. One of the songs was a song from E.T. A little boy rode a bike across the field like in the movie (he didn't fly though, much to my disappointment!)

The cutest little boys sat in front of us. They had Sooner jerseys, little football pants, and red converse hi-tops. So cute!

I got a corn dog at the game and much to my dismay the end looked like a finger. I couldn't eat the rest.

Can't wait for OU/Texas next weekend!!!!

BOOMER SOONER!

I thought I would put up some pictures from the OU home games so far......Rayce and I have been to all of them and will be going to the rest. I LOVE OU FOOTBALL SEASON!! We also went to the OU-Baylor game in Waco, but I put those pictures in another post. OU is doing aweseome this season. Let's just hope the streak continues!! :)

Singing our alma mater. We are #1!!!

We all had our Solaray sunglasses on! I love that I went all the way to China
to choose sunglasses and know we are wearing them to OU games. That is fun to think about.
More to come throughout the season!

An enigma, condundrum, etc. etc.

So I got into a debate this weekend with two boys (one being my husband, the other being Trent). We were sitting at Buffalo Wild Wings and somehow got on the subject of brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. I mentioned to Rayce something about Amy (my brother's wife) being his sister-in-law and he said "She is your sister-in-law not mine". I was like "are you kidding me?" And he said he wasn't and that "just because she is your sister-in-law doesn't mean she is mine". I explained to him that they both married into the family and therefore they were sister and brother-in-law. Trent and he both disagreed with me.

I went further and asked Rayce "so when your brother gets married his wife would not be my sister-in-law" and they both said "no". I posed the same question to Trent. When he got married Candy (his brother's wife) couldn't call his wife her sister-in-law.

I just couldn't accept this. So I proceeded to try to get them to my side. I text messaged Brooke and asked her what she thought and she and jonathan (her boyfriend) both agreed with me. Then both boys called their moms and they agreed with me as well. So Trent then proceeds to ask our waitress and she agreed with me. And then they aske ANOTHER waiter who FINALLY agreed with them...but he was a guy.

What do you think? I am interested to hear what other people think about the subject. I guess I had never really thought about it, because in my family we always thought the way I did. My mom married my dad therefore he is the brother in law of her sisters as well as their husbands.

So I finally looked it up on two different dictionary websites and lo and behold, I was right about the whole subject, but they still wouldn't agree. I am baffled.

To his credit, my husband did say "It doesn't change the way I love Amy and Patricia (the sister-in-laws). So that was sweet, but he is still wrong.

So maybe it just has to do with different family situations....and maybe even gender somewhat.....but then again I know guys who agree with me.

I know it's not a huge deal, but it was something I had never really thought about. Opinions? Confusing I know.

Congrats Kadrian and Chad!!!

My cousin Kadrian (and one of my besties) and Chad (a great friend of mine as well) got engaged this weekend!!! He proposed in NYC, where they lived before moving to Dallas in May. I am so happy for them and CANNOT wait to be a bridesmaid! I already want to start planning a shower and they aren't even getting married til next year. Hehe. I just adore weddings, but I especially adore weddings of people that I love!! I decided to post a picture of the ring, because it is way too pretty not to. It's a sapphire with diamonds around and looks just like Kadrian. Chad did an amazing job picking it out!! Cheers!!!

LOVE IT

So this marries two of my great loves: Disney and holidays. It makes me so happy.

This makes me want to go to Disney World in a bad, bad way. I am having withdrawls. I think this has been the longest I have gone without a trip to either Disney theme park....2 years. Ok, now I'm sad.
A side note: As I type my husband is eating candy corn.....I think my picture inspired him.

Home on the Range

I found this website awhile ago and absolutely love it: http://barndandys.com/ The company is actually out Oklahoma, so that is really cool! I am totally getting the teepee for Reagan and Bailey for Christmas, but in the flower pattern. They will have so much fun!!

I also really want a couple of these TV trays.......Not sure what print yet....

Just thought I would share....they have a lot of fun stuff for kids (and adults....I have to admit I really want a teepee) and I love the vintage textiles!!! Hope you check it out!

Hey There Cupcake

I found this at Williams-Sonoma and thought it was just too cute not to share. It's called The Great Cupcake Pan. It's a cake pan that is shaped like a giant cupcake (6 inches high and 7 inches across) The picture is of the end product. I already bought it as a gift for someone! Amazing!

Corn MaIze and Punkin Patch

This weekend Rayce and I went to a 5-acre corn maze and pumpkin patch in Shawnee! It was so much fun! It was opening day (it's the only free weekend we will have for the awhile) and it wasn't busy at all....it was so nice.

The corn maze was actually pretty hard.....They had trivia questions at different posts to tell you to turn right or left, but in between the posts there were lots of places to take a wrong turn and run into a dead end. We actually got lost a few times....it was really disorienting. I have a horrible sense of direction, so we probably should have just gone opposite of any direction I thought felt right...Oh well. It was really fun...you can go at night too, but I think that would be kind of creepy.

The pumpkin patch was "cut your own". They were all still on the vine and we got to pick them and cut them ourselves. So cool!

There was also a little petting zoo, a train ride for kids, a hay ride, and cute little games. It would be so much fun for a family outing.....

Our pumpkin picks:
my favorite

All in all it was a great day!! We got pretty pumpkins and had lots of fun....Now I need to decide how to decorate them....Let me know if you have any fun ideas! I have a couple....but we will see.

Test run

I went home this weekend (to Sapulpa) to help my mom babysit my nieces Bailey and Reagan. Bailey is 8 going on 45 and Reagan is 21 months......I am still exhausted. The babysitting extravangza began on Friday and ended on Monday (my brother took my sister-in-law to Washington for the OU-Washington game). I got back to Ada Monday evening and was asleep by 9:30. TIRED.

We went to the Riverwalk, went shopping, watched football, etc. etc. etc. I defintely got a little taste of what it would be like to have children. I mean I spend a lot of time with my nieces and nephew BUT it's is always in short increments of time and I get to go home at the end of the day. Not this weekend. I told my mom I was exhausted and I asked if her if I would be this tired when I have kids and she said "It's different when they are your own"....I don't believe her. It proved to me that Rayce and I need to wait for awhile before we have kids. So if I end up "with child" anytime soon just now it was a happy "surprise".....

Here are some pictures. They are all of Reagan because Bailey is in that stage where she doesn't want her picture taken much.... The pictures of Reagan with a serious or mad expression is actually her trying to smile. Anytime I would say "Reagan smile!" She would get that look on her face...then she would eventually break out into a smile. I still don't know what she was doing. She was modeling some of her new outfits for us...my favorite is the Leaf Dress with the striped tights....It was so much fun picking out clothes for her!! I have to have a girl someday!! We went to Wal-mart and before we could park the car (it is about 2 minutes from the house), she had fallen asleep in her carseat, so we had to put her in the grocery cart.....I guess we tired her out that day....

I had so much fun with the girls this weekend....I think it was a good bonding weekend. This was the first time Reagan has been away from her mommy (or I should say her mommy has been away from her) so we were all a little nervous. She did great.....2 year olds don't really have a great concept of time....for all we know she thought her mom was gone for like 10 minutes.

Bailey was good too....we organized her room. She loved it. She must take after her Aunt Sara.

I cannot wait to move back to Tulsa in May!!!! We are getting so excited.

I also got to take a couple of breaks and go eat with friends! It was great! :) Lesley and I were supposed to eat Monday, but through a series of unfortunate events we ended up in two different places. Too funny. We will get together soon!!

Galosh.

Rayce surprised me with these Burberry rain boots!! So cute! I have been wanting some FOREVER. What a great husband. Now I just need it to rain.
