This weekend Rayce and I went to a 5-acre corn maze and pumpkin patch in Shawnee! It was so much fun! It was opening day (it's the only free weekend we will have for the awhile) and it wasn't busy at all....it was so nice.
There was also a little petting zoo, a train ride for kids, a hay ride, and cute little games. It would be so much fun for a family outing.....

The corn maze was actually pretty hard.....They had trivia questions at different posts to tell you to turn right or left, but in between the posts there were lots of places to take a wrong turn and run into a dead end. We actually got lost a few times....it was really disorienting. I have a horrible sense of direction, so we probably should have just gone opposite of any direction I thought felt right...Oh well. It was really fun...you can go at night too, but I think that would be kind of creepy.
The pumpkin patch was "cut your own". They were all still on the vine and we got to pick them and cut them ourselves. So cool!

All in all it was a great day!! We got pretty pumpkins and had lots of fun....Now I need to decide how to decorate them....Let me know if you have any fun ideas! I have a couple....but we will see.

You should carve the pinta, nina, and santa maria into one pumpkin, and then you should call it the jack-o sailed the ocean blue latern.
Oh my gosh. if you have the talent to carve the boats PLEASE let me know...because I know I don't!
How fun! my husband and I did this last year in TX and plan to do it again this year! makes me want to go now!
Hi Sara! I saw your status advertising your blog and actually came. :) You are so funny. Your blog actually inspired us to check out the Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch with some friends, and we had SO much fun. Great recommendation!!!
I cannot believe you went to a pumpkin patch..... that was not mine. We live in one, you know. and we have an even bigger one on the other side of town.... traitor. Just kidding, what I meant to saw was "COME SEE US!"
